I just got back from DrupalCon Chicago and I’m super excited about all the great stuff I learned in Chi-Town. I’m going to post a more in-depth look at my DrupalCon adventure, but this “Initial Thoughts” post will hit on the key takeaways I had from the event.
The most important takeaway was one word: MOBILE. I think nearly every keynote, session, etc mentioned developing for mobile. I also learned a great deal about Drupal distributions like COD, OpenScholar, Drupal Commons, Nodestream, and Civic. I also got a quick overview of module development. The sessions I took on Information Architecture (IA), menu building, and theming were also very helpful.
Overall, a very good conference in Chicago. I hope to be able to attend the 2012 event in Denver. In the meantime, I’ll try and post a more thorough review of my experience in the future.
