You may have heard about a phenomenon sweeping the web development community: Responsive Web Design.
Responsive Web Design (RWD) is the brilliant idea of one Ethan Marcotte. In fact, this topic is so excellent that I decided to present it at our annual Webmaster’s Forum at the University of Illinois this past April. I did my best to put forth my research on this very important topic to our webmaster community; many of whom hadn’t heard of the idea.
Ethan’s book Responsive Web Design launched Tuesday and I immediately grabbed a copy. I suggest you do the same as it will most likely become the industry standard for building highly robust websites for the next decade.
Responsive Web Design is still in it’s infancy, but many industry giants are comparing it’s potential impact on the web to that of switching from table-based layout to css-driven layout. For those of us who’ve been around the web, that’s a pretty serious comparison.
I highly recommend you do your research now and learn as much as possible about Responsive Web Design. You won’t be disappointed.
