The year was 1970, gas cost about 35 cents a gallon, and the muscle car wars were peaking.

Then, some frickin’ geniuses at GM decided to slam a 454 big block into these beautiful SS Chevelles. I’m sure they all sat around and let out a big Tim Taylor grunt thinking about all that horsepower.

My all-time favorite muscle car.
