Thanks to everyone who has checked on us today. We are okay. Our house has minor damage. We should be able to handle what we need to fix I hope (as long as house didn’t shift on foundation). So please, if you can help, please try and help others who need help more than we do (and there are plenty). That’s what we are trying to do since we got lucky by a block!
I want to say a special thanks to the storm watchers and anyone else involved with sounding the sirens in town. Had they not sounded them just in time, there would have been lives lost. That 5 minutes of time is very precious as we found out today.
Water, generators, fuel, and general contractor/roof help will be needed. Places to stay, store things, food etc. I hear they are organizing volunteers at the local auctioneer building tomorrow morning. Thanks again, we are blessed to have so many great friends and family. This is a great community and we will rebuild and come back even better.
LOTS of downed trees so any tree services, saws, etc would be another thing that would help.
Basic building materials like 2x4s, screws, nails, tarps, and plywood to would be helpful to those with that kind of damage. I used most of my spare stuff helping board up friends homes today.
HUGE thanks to all the emergency management staff, first responders, firemen & women, police officers and volunteers for making sure people were safe.
And actually I believe they are now telling people to call emergency management before coming to town to help.
