Review: WordPress Android App

I really like the WordPress Android app.  I’m actually typing this post from the app right now on my Droid 2.

The app gives you the option to start a new blog, add a wordpress.com blog, or to add your own self-hosted wordpress blog. I chose the later option for the purpose of this review.

As you can see, I am able to add formatting like bold text and links easily. The app allows you to manage comments, posts, and pages very easily. You can also login to wordpress.com and view your blog stats.

The interface with the WordPress app continues the wonderful design from the regular WP blogging platform. The design is simple, clean, and very nice to use.

When you create new content you create it locally and then have the option to upload it to your site. You can add tags, categories, and media to your posts/pages as well.

I highly recommend the WordPress Android App if you have to maintain or post content to a WP blog. I like the fact that this app will take the leash off of my posting capabilities; allowing me to post content and manage my blogs with ease.

Since I’ll be able to post more frequently, I’ve decided to finally link up to HootSuite and have blog posts automatically sent to twitter.  This combination will accomplish two things, more exposure to the blog and show off the seamless and mobile setup I have going here with WordPress!
