The last few weekends have been productive. A 90/10 grind on all my burger last weekend. Today I fired up the smoker for garlic and pepper jerky with hickory smoke, and mesquite jerky with mesquite smoke.

I took this photo yesterday. Despite the single digit wind chills, it was a beautiful day to be out hunting.

I’ve had a few Robin Hoods at 20 yards and closer on flat ground. Today, I cracked one at 30 yards from an elevated platform. The groups at 40 and 50 yards were decent and should get better with new vanes. Fun day of archery! Bring on bow season!

Hunting season isn’t here yet but already prepping for this fall. I always process my own deer, but finally bought a grinder and sausage stuffer late last year. All game will go from field to table under my own power. Pretty excited to make my own deer sticks, brats, etc This should also serve as…
